Description

12 short but fun sport climbs right on the lake. Good limestone with rating from 5.11a - 5.13a and go for 25-30ft. Some routes have permanent draws. Private property above so don't top out.

If your looking for solitude look somewhere else. Boats stop to watch frequently.

Getting There

From Killeen: Take FM 439 to FM 2271. Take a left on Morgans Point Blvd and park in the lot at the dead end. Walk down to the water and go right following the bank to the wall.

Almost all of the perma-draws have been removed as of 8/23/2014. This was somewhat of a shocker, and made me a little sad. All the routes I saw did have bailout biners, or a single biner at the anchors. Aug 27, 2014
FYI: We were booted off an agitated woman's "private property"(?) at the base of the right wall this AM (and no, we did not top out). She also threatened to cut all the bolts. Anyone else experience this? Sep 4, 2016

What's the deal with this place? Worth driving the two hours from Dallas for a day trip?

Interested in any info regarding access. Thanks! Jan 27, 2017
Daniel, I think it is worth the drive. It's a short approach, and right by rogers. so you could spend some time at either area. The routes are short, but they are steep, gymnastic, and the rock quality is quite nice. Mar 10, 2017

Note that the anchors for the two 5.8s have been chopped. On the same wall, there is one additional bolted route whose anchors remain, and another unbolted route whose anchors remain. The latter climb's anchors appeared (we didn't pay them much attention, honestly) to just be quicklinks on two bolts at the top. No chains, or sport clips. Jan 13, 2018
