Gandschijen

International > Europe > Switzerland > Central Switzer… > Göschenertal

Description

A choice venue for high quality alpine sport climbs on bomber central Switzerland granite. It is a south-facing wall that gets lots of sunlight. The Goeschenen valley does not see a lot of human traffic, and this area is off the beaten path.

Getting There

From Goeschenen, follow the small road towards the Goescheralp. Park on the side of the road just after the tiny village of Gwuuest, and follow an unpaved road up the south slope of the valley past a few small huts. At the end of the road, continue by trail up the south slope, gaining significant elevation. At the last hut, perched at the edge of a small plateau, cross the plateau (trail is somewhat faint through the high grass) and resume ascending the south slope on a more clear trail that, at times, passes through boulder fields, to the base of the wall.

The approach takes around 90 minutes and a decent amount of energy.
