Description

The Pleasant Valley area is actually located in Brookfield, NH. The area is mostly a winter time destination due to the high volume of poison ivy. In the winter the entire area can be explored, but in summer months I stick to the right end (less ivy). The area offers some great ice climbs as well as rock routes.

Getting There

There is not a trail to the crag. Take Pleasant Valley Valley Road next to Kingswood Regional High School in Wolfeboro. Follow it into Brookfield and park at the dirt turnaround at the end of the road. Walk left past a gate and continue right across a field. Keep going into the woods and cross over many logging roads. Eventually you will drop down into a valley where rock can be seen. Walk around and find the cliff.

The area could also be accessed from Route 109 in Brookfield. The hillside with the crags can be seen from Fletcher Farm.

The place is hard to find, but it should take about 20 minutes once you know the way.
