Huntington State Park
Connecticut
> CT Bouldering
Description
Huntington's formal description, life-like sculptures of bears and wolves welcome your arrival to this peaceful and tranquil setting featuring open fields and dense woodlands, fails to mention the bouldering and small cliff on the SE side of the park. The park was donated to the citizens of Connecticut by the internationally renowned Huntington family.
Along Hopewell Woods Rd is some parking (on left @ gate heading NE) and a few small outcropings and some bouldering. I'm not familiar with the lines here but I know others have climbed there. Def some more developing to be done...
Getting There
Park along Hopewell Woods Rd, hike in to the SE along the trail and you should see a large boulder over a stream and several small out croppings. The boulder has been climbed but the outcroppings remain mostly unclimbed. Further behind this glen is a small cliff line with some traversing around the base and some beginner toprope routes.
