Sierra National Forest has extended a large closure covering many popular Western Sierra climbing areas including Shuteye Ridge, the Balls, Courtright Reservoir etc.

Description

Spring Dome is immediately adjacent to Trapper Springs Campground between the road and the reservoir. The dome offers sixteen moderate, single and multi-pitch, face and crack climbs. For those that bother to top out, there are beautiful views of the reservoir and surrounding domes. Must ropes require two ropes to rappel. It is possible to top out and walk off to the north or south.

Getting There

Park on the road just past the entrance to Trapper Springs Campground. Head directly east toward the dome on the easiest route possible. The climbs are primarily located on the west face (facing the road). The approach should take you no more than 5 minutes.
