[Hide Comment] An alternative approach to the Rifugio Velo if the road to Malga Civertaghe is out/under construction (as it currently is): park at Caffe Col, and follow the 724 to the 713. This takes approximately 2-2.5 hours and ~1km elevation gain. The standard approach from just above the Malga Civertaghe on the 713 takes ~1.5 hours (reportedly).

Additional note: In the early season it is possible to have snow in the descent gully between Saas Maor and Cima della Madonna, which requries axe/crampons. Current status can be ascertained by calling the rifugio velo. Jul 5, 2022
