Description

Known as "The Pits", which hardly suggests a good area, but in fact this group of quarries have some of the best crack climbs on the western side of the Peak District. Faces west - a good venue on warm, dry summer afternooons or evenings.

Getting There

Situated on the moors above Uppermill, a village about 15 miles north-east of Manchester. Follows lanes uphill out of the village for half a mile to park at a bend where a grassy quarry track begins. 10-15 minutes walk uphill from here.
