Old School Never Gets Old

This is where old school alpine Japanese climbers learned their craft. The rock here is agglomerate. There are roughly 70 routes ranging from vertical to less than vertical. The season is April to October. Mitsutoge offers nice face and crack climbing in a great alpine environment. There are loads of III (5.4), IV (5.5), V- (5.6), V (5.7), V+ (5.8), VI- (5.8) and VI (5.9) routes to hone your skills if you are new to placing gear.

The main areas with some classics:
1) Left Face - Seven routes. Kame Route (Turtle Route). 4P IV+, IV+, III+, III 80 meters.
2) Central Face - 24 routes. Central Arte. 3P III, IV+, IV (V+) 60 meters.
3) Right Face - 35 routes. Kannon Route Right V- 20 meters.
4) East Face - 11 routes. Komori=Nakayama Crack 5.10c ten meters
