(a) Diamondback

International > N America > Canada > British Columbia > Okanagan > Skaha > (g) Southern Crags

Description

A popular crag on busy days due to its proximity to the parking lot. The routes on the East Face get great sun in the morning and some shade in the afternoon. Generally the South Face has routes 5.10 and under, and the East Face has routes 5.10 and over. On the Ready to Strike Wall on the East Face are Skaha Classics like Sidewinder (5.10c), Cytotoxic (5.11a), and Ready to Strike (5.10a trad).

Getting There

Take the trail just below the upper parking lot. After 5-10 minutes, you'll pass Daycare and Daycare Quickies with their short, easy climbs. Shortly after passing these crags, you'll see a path going off to the right with a sign for Diamondback. Follow that path up the hill for a couple minutes and you're there. The first routes you come to are on the South Face, and around the corners are those on the East Face.

Missing Routes

There are many known routes in this area that are missing on Mountain Project. On each crag's page, there is a list of its routes that are missing on Mountain Project but described in the guidebook.

Please contribute to the Skaha Mountain Project page by taking the time to add these missing routes if you've climbed them!
