Warm-Up Wall

Virginia > Southwest Virgi… > Grayson Highlan… > Listening Rock… > 1. Overlook Area

Description

This couldn't be a better warm up area or destination for anyone looking for a host of v0-v2 boulder problems. The Warm-Up Wall has plenty of height to make the lines worthwhile and the landing is level and free of hazards. Just about any problem here is recommended!

-There is still lots of moss on this boulder and this is exactly how GHSP likes it to be. Untold numbers of people have climbed at the Warm-Up Wall and every hold that is needed is clean and perfectly useable. PLEASE DO NOT CLEAN anymore moss off of this boulder! If an exposed hold is dirty, by all means use your toothbrush, but removal of plant life (lichen and moss included) will get the park shut down for us all.

Getting There

Pass the Hive Boulder and walk off trail toward the road. The Warm Up Wall faces the road and from the trail you cannot see the face whatsoever. walk diagonally toward the road and to your left you will find the wall.

[Hide Comment] I say we change this to the "Chalk Wall". Apparently to climb a v0 traverse you need to use all of the chalk in your bag or else it's too hard. I could literally see the chalk from the road out of my peripheral and I wasn't even paying attention. I also picked up tape, a metal can, and various other bits of shit left behind by "climbers". Get it together people. Nov 16, 2017
