Description

The Powerline Crag is a heavily forested limestone wall. The routes here are primarily short (30') sport routes with generous bolts and bolted anchors. The wall faces South and when you aren't climbing you can enjoy nice views of the Blue Ridge Reservoir

Getting There

Take HWY-87 north from Pine, Arizona. After mile marker 285, turn right onto signed FR751. Take this well graded dirt road until you see power lines crossing the road above you (a couple of miles from HWY-87). Park at the pullout on the right. If you reach the boat ramp you've gone too far. Walk down towards the lake on one of the two faint trails that lead to the base of the climbs. The climbs are not far from the road, but it will take about 10 minutes of hiking because its slow going through the forest. One trail is on the far East end of the parking area and the other goes down a gully to the West of the power lines.

The best parking for the craq is just passed the powerlines at the next bend in the road. Look for a faint trail that is located halfway between this parking area and the powerlines, Cairns can be seen from the roadside. Follow the cairns to the far eastside of the craq. Jun 2, 2014
