Description
So I've been told the mob has history here. During prohibition a gang of do-no-gooders used this area to receive and send off booze. Now dog walkers, horse people, and drunk hunters use this as their escape into Nature. There are a couple good problems here with room for more.
Bring a brush and get some FA's.
Getting There
These directions are not going to be the best because I haven't been there in a few month, so please contribute if you can...
Drive into Hurd through the main entrance. Pass the welcome boulders and go straight past a road leading to the right. You should see a yellow metal gate on your left as the road takes a sharp right hand turn. This is unlocked during hunting season allowing you to drive further down, but you can also park here.
Walk around the gates onto the road. As the road turns right, go straight into the woods following a small trail. This trail will meander down hill for a while. At one point you start walking towards power lines. There will be an eroded wash on you left that is actually a trail...DON"T MISS THIS! take the left and DON"t walk to the powerlines. Continue down the windy trail until you reach a narrow paved road. Take a right and walk ~5 minutes until you reach rock on your right. It's very obvious.
From the yellow metal gate this should take about 20 minutes.
