Description
Lapinha gets its name from the grotto that is a touristic attraction in the city of Lagoa Santa and is part of the Sumidouro State Park. After a nine-year ban on rock climbing, Lapinha is once again open for climbing as of May 2011. The area is a maze of limestone within the jungle offering more than 70 routes.
Once you park, you need to get a permit and pay a fee to climb. Climbers are allowed in between 10:00 and 13:00, after which you are denied access. Climbers must be preparing to leave by 16:00, and out of the park by 17:00.
