Description
A neat crag that is quiet for the highway and has some fun but hard climbing. Probably the only severely overhanging stuff on the highway as well. Literally next to the ocean so keep an eye on the tides. As with all Seward Highway climbing the rock is often loose and crumbly so watch yourself. Since the routes are literally next to the ocean the anchors and bolts can become really rather corroded so check for that as well. Bring a rope bag unless you like silt shredding your rope. *CHECK THE TIDES BEFORE YOU HEAD OUT*
Getting There
The closest crag to town this one is only .7 of a mile past the weigh station. Turn around and park in the small gravel pullout just past mile marker 114. Hike across the highway across the railroad tracks and you will hit a small trail leading down a large boulderfield on the Girdwood side of the formation. Once you the bottom you will find a large cave..hence the name "Sea Cave." A cool place to come for an evening if the tide is out!
