Getting weather forecast...
DescriptionA perfectly picturesque riverside boulder. This boulder has one of the absolute best photo opportunities on the whole trail.
As you ride down the trail, you will come to Trestle #40. If you want to check out the boulder before deciding whether or not to go to it, ride across 40 and look across the creek. this is the larger boulder wit the slightly overhung, pointy top.
There could still be a sit start to the stand I did, and possibly a short/mantle line as well.
More or less this is just a fantastic photo stop. The problem wouldn't be very good if the setting weren't amazing.
Getting ThereTo get to Mayfly, go off the creeper to the right, before crossing the trestle. there is a small fisherman's trail to follow beside of the creek bank. follow this, and push through a small Laurel thicket and you will walk upon it. I FAd the stand when the creek was quite high, and there was still ample pad area... unless your bouldering in a flood you should be fine.
