I've found a handful of other spots along 39 that are great bouldering and short TR (along the hunters trail before the turnoff for Goshen Scout Ranch) and alot around the south side of Lake Merriweather on the north side of the ridge by viewing rock and jump mountain.

Washington and Lee's website is great but without the guidebook I had trouble finding sites. www2.wlu.edu/x21588.xml Hiking upward had a good topo of the maury river trail and the surrounding BSA camps and trails. hikingupward.com/OVH/Goshen…

I chair rock climbing activities for the Boy Scouts in the area, and would love to be in touch with folks on coordinating on trail / route maintenance and development with the BSA. Feb 17, 2014
Just wanted to leave a few more details on finding the crag...

Parking: Search for the Goshen Pass Trailhead via Google Maps. You'll drive down a short driveway off the river side of the main road to a parking lot with a trailhead sign. The swinging bridge is located near the edge of the parking lot.

To get to Maury River Wall: Take the path to the right once you cross over the bridge. Watch for a small trail that veers off left of the main trail about 10 minutes or less down the trail. The crag is located on the left, up and away from the edge of the river.

To get to Chambers Ridge Crag: Instead of veering left to go to the Maury River Wall, continue straight down the trail until you see a sign that points left and uphill for Chambers Ridge. Follow that trail up and left until you get to the Crag. The total hiking distance from the car is about 30 minutes.

Hope this helps! Jun 26, 2017
