Description

ROCK CLIMBING INSIDE THE GOSHEN PASS NATURAL AREA PRESERVE IS NOT ALLOWED. THIS AREA INCLUDES ALL CLIFFS NORTH AND EAST OF THE MAURY RIVER, INCLUDING MAURY RIVER WALL, CHAMBERS RIDGE, AND OTHERS. SEE THIS DCR HANDOUT FOR MORE INFORMATION

An often overlooked climbing area in Virginia.

Plenty of routes for top roping and trad climbing along with bouldering.

Climbs range from 25-100 feet and comprised mainly of sandstone.

As approach the pass the crags are: Castle Rock, Wayside Wall, Undeveloped Wall, Devil's Kitchen, Chambers Ridge and Maury River Wall.

Getting There

Once reach Route 39 from I-64 drive for about 17 miles. The road runs nearly parallel to the Maury river and you'll see plenty of parking for river and climbing access.
