Description
The Corwina Park Boulders are 2 boulders right next to a small stream with quite a few really fun problems with mostly good landings. This is a great place for quick sessions before/ after work, and it is only a few minutes down the road from the bouldering in Morrison. The rock is gneiss that is similar to some of the boulders in RMNP, but not as good, though a couple of the problems are classic.
All but one of the problems face the creek. For the sake of organization we'll call the boulders: Boulder A (the first boulder you come up to) and Boulder B (the boulder almost touching boulder A).
I couldn't find any info containing problem names, grades or FAs, so I'll keep it very generic until more info presents itself. The only info that I could find was that there is a problem called The Cure which is supposedly 7a, whatever that means, and there is another problem I think called "The Kiss?" or at least that was what was written in SHARPIE (LAME!) in the middle of the line.
Boulder A
L->R:
1. Left Problem Variation, V3/4.
2. Left Problem, V3/4.
3. Gaston Problem, V3/4.
4. Middle Warm Up, V2.
5. Warm Up, V0.
Boulder B
L->R:
1. The Kiss?, V7/8 (this problem faces the trail).
2. Center Line aka The Sickness, V4 (highball).
3. Center Direct SDS, V8?
4. Middle Bulge?
5. Crimp Dyno, V4/5.
6. K's Problem, V3.
7. Prow Problem, V6.
Getting There
From the town of Morrison, head west on Morrison Rd (CO 73) towards Evergreen. After passing the small town of Idledale, start looking for Corwina Park on the left (south) side of the road. Park at the 2nd, smaller lot which has a small bridge crossing to get into the parking lot. It is about 10 minutes from Morrison.
Hike 200 yards on the only trail leaving the lot to find the 2 boulders right off the trail.
Here’s an exact pin of where the boulders are (- 39.6599504, -105.2832129)
