Description
The Luminary Boulder is one of the best in the park. Big and bold, this one doest disappoint.
Getting There
New Trail! Thanks to the hard work, dedication and passion from the volunteers of the GHSP Bouldering & Stewardship Weekend (2017) and the Central Appalachia Climbers Coalition we now have a nice climber access trail into the awesome Luminary Bouldering Area.
The easiest way to the Luminary Area is to walk down the back side of the Listening Rock Trail (not the start of the trail with the wooden overlook, but the trail head that is normally the exit of the loop trail which is at the corner of the lower parking lot). Walk down the trail and pass the trail’s end boulder and the Wildwood Bouldering Trail.
The trail into the Luminary Area when walking in from the LRT in this direction is at the start, just before the first boulder at the Autumn Boulders. There is a large boulder directly beside the trail at the Autumn Boulders (trailside) and the start of the Luminary access trail is just before it leading downhill. Walk down the stone steps and follow the trail, the first boulder you will come to is Equinox.
