Description

Southern Blonde is a SW facing triangle shaped formation located about 0.8 miles, heading south on Horseshoe Meadows Rd. "What a Face" (5.9***), "Cajun Spice Girls" (5.9***) and "Dick See Chicks" (5.10a***). Two unnamed routes lie on a boulder, a short distance up and right of this formation. Both are bolted. The left one is (5.10c) and the right (5.10b).

Getting There

Drive south on Horseshoe Meadows Rd. After 0.8 miles, turn left on a beat-up paved road. This area will be seen to the left.

Even though the formation is south facing, this isn't the best cold-weather crag because the climbs start out of a tight corridor at the base, leaving the belayer to suffer in the shade. Mar 20, 2011
