Yosemite National Park has yearly closures for Peregrine Falcon Protection March 1- July 15. Always check the NPS website at nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/… for the most current details and park alerts, and to learn more about the peregrine falcon, and how closures help it survive. This page also shares closures and warnings due to current fires, smoke, etc.
Description
Beautiful golden granite bouldering only a few minutes from the campground. Few crowds. Techy problems. Mixed sun and shade. Crank down here and then head over the hill to the more popular Puppy Boulders, or vice versa.
Getting There
From the campground, take the JMT east for a pleasant 5-10 minute walk towards Lyell Canyon, until you are directly across the river from Kitty Dome. Cross the river at some beautiful golden slabs, in late season the water is only a few inches deep. Head towards Kitty Dome, the boulders are scattered around the south face.
