I grew up in Paris and visited the Ice caves multiple times in my early years. This was of course way before I was introduced to climbing. I have since moved away but It is a neat to come back to visit and see the area being respected! To reiterate Kari, please tread lightly. Have fun, Be safe! Nov 26, 2016
If you plan to climb here, definitely bring something to pad your rope with. we used a 5'x8' canvas tarp that we hung below the anchors. There are anchors for days, but they were set up by local search and rescue to practice rappelling, so none of them are in very ideal spots to set up top ropes without rope rub. That said, it can be done with a bit of creativity! Having a slightly bigger rope tarp at the bottom is also super clutch because of the year-round ice and snow.
This is a very small area and can fill up fast. Tread lightly and leave no trace because these walls aren't chalked up yet and I know the locals want to keep it that way. Aug 13, 2015
