The southernmost Canadian Rockies span the 200 kilometers from Mount Assiniboine southward to the peaks of Waterton National Park. The best climbing in this region is found and approached from Alberta in the Kananakis Country.
Mount King George (11,226ft) is the most Southerly of the big, over 11,000 foot, Canadian Rockies peaks in British Colombia.
The BC side of Mount Joffre (11,250ft)is unknown in literature.
The other big southern peak is Mount Sir Douglas (11,174ft); a real climbers mountain with big technical routes, but fully in Alberta.
