Bunky Boulder

Massachusetts > N Shore > Lynn Woods > Parking Lot/Fenway Area

Description

This piece of rock is atrocious to look at. It has "Bunky" spraypainted on the front side and seems to have been a paintball gun target at some point in time. The rock quality on the side of the boulder facing the trail is bad, but the two aretes on each side have some nice granite. Regardless of the appearance, it can be a good warmup boulder for both the Hillside Boulder or Mario Boulders. It can also be a nice hit on the way out to the Bob Johnson Boulders, along with being a good boulder to burn out on at the end of the Stone Tower circuit.

Getting There

From the main parking lot, follow Great Woods Road for about half a minute and take your first left onto a smaller trail. After a minute or two up the hill, you will see Bunky on your left.

Updated picture of the Bunky Boulder after graffiti removal. Previously this said "ATL" in big red and blue letters across the middle. Don't count on identifying with the big "J" or the "Bunky" painted on it, hopefully those will be removed soon too.
