I don't remember any more than that. I can confirm that the 34th Training Wing has declared it "off limits" to its members in the past, but...I don't know the current status. Kind of a shame, because it would be worth doing if you were a Cadet stuck in the dorms all weekend, otherwise I wouldn't bother. Nice view from the top. Nov 10, 2010

Sounds pretty similar to a route I did with some guy named Bill and another gal named Lynn, maybe late '90s or so. I think Bill worked up there or something. Kind of a nice hike into a scrambly climb of sorts, if I remember correctly. It seemed like a lot of the rock up there had "the Front Range syndrome" (TM), in that there were sections that were 20 to 30 feet tall that looked good, but always seemed to be interrupted by ledges, etc. Oct 29, 2010

I heard a rumor that this was "closed" by the USAFA due to an accident several years ago, but I could be wrong.

Mike & I did some sketchy route up this thing c. summer 1996? We didn't have any kind of guide; we just tried to climb the best-looking line. We passed some ancient-looking fixed gear at some point, so certainly parts of it had been done before. It was pretty scrubby and probably in the 5.6-range. Maybe Mike knows more.... Oct 29, 2010
