Goliath Rock-AKA the Bob Parrot Boulder

Massachusetts > N Shore > Lynn Woods > Mt Spickett/Goliath R…
Access Issue: Covid Guidelines Details

Description

Originally named Goliath Rock, this block has more recently been referred to as the Bob Parrot Boulder. Regardless of name this is a great 16 foot block up on a sunny ridge.

Getting There

It is G11 on the Caltopo map.

From the Rich Baker Boulder, continue on the wide dirt road (Ox Pasture Road) for about 4 minutes, and then break right into the woods and climb up the ridge until you can see this block near some houses.

[Hide Comment] Boulder G11. Apr 26, 2017
[Hide Comment] In addition to having a lot of good climbs on it, this boulder is also very nice because the main wall of it is south facing and not too shaded so it drys out relatively quickly. I was on it only a couple of days after snow and although the back of some of the cracks were wet The Seed, The Seed 2.0 & Crash Test Dummy were all pretty dry. Feb 14, 2018

[Hide Comment] Good to know! Thanks! We found out recently that Treehugger dries up quick as well. Feb 16, 2018

[Hide Comment] So, the book "Rockachusetts" says that this is "Goliath Rock". It makes sense. Maybe we give it an AKA? Aug 19, 2018
