Additional Information about Anchorage and South Central Alaska Climbing:
There is a gym in Anchorage,alaskarockgym.com and also a small gym in Wasilla. There are two guidebooks for sport/trad climbing by Kelsey Gray and a bouldering guide by Todd Helgeson and David Funatake. Todd's site AKclimber.com is a really good resource for bouldering updates and there is a Face Book group for AKclimber as well.
The guidebooks are available at the below links:
akclimber.com/guidebook-ord… for the bouldering guide
alaskarockclimbing.com/ for the route guidebooks, there are two volumes.
Also, to give an idea of the rock at Hatcher Pass, here is a link to the official Trailer of "Falling Forward", which is a video about alpine bouldering in Alaska and will be premiered and released next spring. vimeo.com/101216080
Due to recent events it must be mentioned that adding bolts to existing climbs is considered poor ethics, and generally will not be tolerated by the community. Additionally, moving bolts for a reason other than safety concern is probably not a great idea.
The climbing areas in Alaska are a shared resource and the ethics of the overall community should be respected.
