Routes in Rex Rock

Rex S 5.12c 7b+ 27 IX- 27 E6 6b

Description

Visible from the road on the drive up this non-descript fin of rock sits just downslope from the ever popular Hungover Wall and hosts a solitary route on it's west face - Rex (5.12c), a thin, crimpy and delicate testpiece of the area.

Getting There

Perhaps best approached from the Hungover Wall parking area and walking the short distance downhill to the formation. Plan on a strenuous 1-2 minute approach and be warned it's uphill on the way back.

That description of the approach to Rex Rock is funny, Chris. I always hate to lose elevation, especially when I know how exhausting it will be to regain it later. Jul 12, 2015
