Description

The north face is home to a vast selection of chimney and offwidth climbs as well as a small number of sport routes. Ratings here range from 5.7 to 5.11 and taping up for the cracks is highly recommended. Descent is by a circuitous walk-off or rapping from the top anchors of one of the nearby sport climbs.

Getting There

Lower Dinosaur Rock is easily approached via a good trail which starts from the edge of Campsite 2. Plan on about 5-10 minutes for the approach.

Be aware that there was as of the date of this post a YellowJacket nest around the west side of the rock around the corner from the far right climbs. (11B and 11A). our dogs were attacked and I got a couple of stings. they were very aggressive and their nest was just hidden under leaves which is their standard nesting ground. Luckily the market was close by and we could give our dogs some benedryl but it could've been worse. Our pit was stung at least 15 times. Just be aware and listen for the buzzing. Otherwise I love the area and the climbs there. Aug 4, 2013
