Description
The West Needle Mountains are a small range just South of Silverton between US Hwy 550 and the Animas Gorge. The range consists of Snowdon Peak at the North end and the four Twilight Peaks to the South.
Getting There
Take Hwy 550 either from Silverton or Durango to Andrews Lake. From Andrews, take the Crater Lake Trail for a half mile to access the climbers trail for Snowdon. For the Twilights, continue on the Crater Lake trail for an additional 5.5 Miles to the base of North Twilight where there is good camping.
