As of May 2019, all climbing and bouldering has been banned in the Turahalli forest. There is talk of opening a small area to climbing. Watch this spot for details.
Description
Turahalli Forest is a boulder garden in southwest Bangalore that offers a large concentration of problems on hundreds of granite blocks. The area has about 500 or so boulder problems spread across an 800 acre forest. A wide range of problems are available for every skill level - upto about 7C+ (V10).
The best days to boulder are Saturday and Sunday as you will see many local climbers flock to the area during those days. And they are usually happy to show new people around.
Climbing alone and later in the evenings (unless accompanied by local climbers) is not advisable as opportunistic muggings have been known to take place.

Getting There
Turahalli is flanked by two major roads: Kanakapura Rd on the east and the Bangalore-Mysore Expressway on the west (not to be confused with Mysore Rd). Driving at daybreak, one can typically get to Turahalli in a half-hour or less from most parts of the city, but at other times, it could easily take twice as long. See map for location. From the road, most of the problems are no more than a 20-minute walk along forest trails.
