Description

It is no surprise why this crag was named cennet, meaning heaven in Turkish. It is a beautiful area with a strikingly smooth and vertical looking wall. The climbing hear is much more thin and technical than can be found at some of the other steeper crags. Don't miss this area even if you prefer the tufa filled overhangs of Geyikbayiri. There are some truly great climbs here all with a view of the Mediterranean and almost no other people. The area is sunny in the morning and shady after about 1:00.

Getting There

If standing at the beach facing the Mediterranean after walking the trail from Olympos turn right. Walk about 100 meters with the sea on your left until you see a trail (or a couple trails) heading up the hill toward the castle ruins. You want to head uphill and to your left traversing above the castle ruins. If you end up in the ruins just keep heading up. Avoid feeling like you have to bushwhack through the forest. There is a well defined trail leading up over the ruins and around the corner to a strikingly steep wall that was previously hidden. The walk takes about 10 or 15 minutes from the beach.
