Soot Patrol Boulder

California > Central Coast > Santa Barbara > Santa Barbara… > Brickyard

Description

A very large boulder that holds several area classics. There is a large, obvious cave on the north side that houses the popular Watch the Dog and Soot Patrol.

Getting There

As you approach the Brickyard from the main trail, veer off to the right (west) towards the Dancing Outlaw boulder. This boulder is the large one just south and adjacent to the Outlaw boulder.

[Hide Comment] Does anyone know if a line has already gone starting from Soot Patrol and going through the shallow sandy pinch pockets (they are pretty solid and not unbearably sandy)all the way through Sex on the Beach to top off on Watch the Dog. I sent it today. I thought it was pretty fun and worth trying. I was told it hadn't been done yet, but let me know if you have any information on it. Here is an I-phone video of the send to show where I thought the line goes.

[Hide Comment] People have been climbing a LONG time in that cave. There's no easy way to extricate FA info from the depths of history, so who knows. In any case, thanks for cleaning and climbing the line. Perhaps it will get more traffic, and become yet another classic B-yard traverse. Nov 25, 2013
