This area is amazing...Still tons of untouched rock here...but there are a few climbs and tons of fun boulders to scramble on and explore.

There is a beginners slab with climbs on it to TR looking at the first slab to the east after passing over the barbed wire...These routes are UNKNOWN and are in the 5.4 5.5 range (maybe something harder). Bomber Bolts are located on top of the slab.

This area is best for the evening time when the sun is heading over the horizon. Please add beta and climbs if you have done any in this area.

Getting There

To get there simply head over past the barbed wire fence directly South of sweet rock, The right side of Sweet Rock. Be careful...getting caught in the barbed wire sucks cause its rusty. Keep heading left where you will see a bolted face. Across the little valley is fun beginner slab. Around the corner from the first bolted face are more bolted climbs.

Friends first climbed at Peanut Rock some years ago, and thought 1-5 were in the 5.7 to 5.10a range, stiffer than the 5.4-5.7 posted here. I’ve climbed them a couple times and think their calls are reasonable, and have added them. Nice rock and good friction practice, but not great beginner leads (except maybe Peanut 1). Nov 12, 2014

You can drive directly to the base of Peanut Rock by turning Right onto the dirt road about 125 meters before Sweet Rock. There is a nice litte spot to camp there and there is easy access to the bolted anchors. Jun 22, 2010
Ahh Thanks!!! Ya we saw random bolts on top...That is definitely it then. Apr 13, 2010

Sounds like Peanut Rock being described. That's the one behind Sweet Rock with all the training routes on it and walk-up anchors on top. Apr 12, 2010
Sry mate...typo. Its more or less south west...I corrected the info...Just head around the right side of the wall...This area has tons of TR bolts with no Topo... Apr 12, 2010
