Description

Ghana is located in West Africa on the coast of the Gulf of Guinea. It was the first African country to gain independence, 1957, from European colonialism.

The official Language is English, but in reality English is secondary to the local languages for the majority of the population.

As a whole, the country is mostly flat with central and eastern highlands (the highest mountain being just under 3000ft or 885 meters). There is no local climbing scene but potential for development in the rocky areas in the south-east of the country and in the central of the country.

If you're looking to climb with a group, there is a climbing community in Accra who goes to Krobo to sport climb every Sunday.

Getting There

Air via North America, Europe, Dubai.
Into Accra, the Capital and largest city in Ghana. Kotoka International Airport (ACC) is the main international airport in the country.

Overland works too. Transportation between the countries in West Africa is well established.
