Description

Sunny boulders that are off-trail, overlooking the Marble Fork of the Kaweah River. This is a good spot to go when its snowy elsewhere as it is south facing and gets a lot of sun.

Getting There

Park:

1.) at Wuksachi Lodge and walk out 10 mins to the Wuksachi Way/Generals Hwy junction, turn left on the Generals Hwy and go downhill toward Lodgepole for several hundred feet, 5 min. There is a short cut between the two roads. Cedar boulders visible on the right.

2.) Alternate parking would be a small, paved turnout that is 0.2 miles north of the Clover Creek bridge. Walk up hill towards Wuksachi, parallel with the road. Cedar boulders visible on your left.

Look for the Cedar boulders to the south, a small cluster of boulders that lie near a small grove of cedar trees. Boulder here first, the problems are good, then walk out S/SE (5 min.) through the forest to the sunny overlook of the Marble Fork River. Boulders are scattered all over the hillside.

Total hiking time from either parking would be about 15-20 mins. Parking at the NPS maintenance road is not allowed.
