Pachar

Description

The Pachar sector is the best place for rock climbing in Cusco, and is in the middle of Sacred Valley. Some of the climbing reaches 700 feet high with many granite cracks with potential for traditional climbing. Some sport exists, including two multi pitch routes between the grades of 5.7 to 5.12. The Sacred Valley of the Incas is best for climbing from march to november. Both Ollantaytambo and Urubamba (both moderately sizes towns) lay ten minutes away from the different crags within Pachar.

Getting There

Drive one hour from Cusco to the sacred valley Towards Urubamba. After arriving in Urubamba take some form of transportation towards Ollantaytambo. Immediately after the Devils Curve (La Curva del Diablo) there will a straight away with one bridge shortly followed by another. 100 m from the pachar bridges, across the farm fields lies Sector Pachar.
