This area is a river bed with sun on the north side and shade on the south side. The climbing season is from late Sept - May. The summer time is too hot and humid to get any type of friction on the rock. Rock is Chert, a highly river polished edgy slopey crimpy area.
Take the Ome line train from Tachikawa Tokyo to Mitake and walk south towards the riverbed.

Seattle, WA
One cautionary note is while this area claims to have over 100 boulders and over 400 problems, the overwhelming majority (probably 90+%) of the routes are VB-V1. Great for beginners but less great for those looking to project higher grades. Further, a lot of the higher graded problems just added low starts to the easy problems so it can be just two moves into a V0. In fact, most of the V4 and above boulders are catalogued on this page already.
Otherwise though, highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a fun bouldering day trip. The setting is fantastic, there are enough fun problems, and it's super easy to get to from Tokyo. 10/10 would recommend Dec 24, 2024
