Description
In the Climber's Guide to Montana, Caffrey describes this range thus: "A compact plateau with concentrated peaks of the same general elevation. Loose fractured rock from top to bottom. Elevation span 6400'."
Fairly off-the-beaten-path area, with old, dark metamorphic rock.
A number of high, craggy peaks to explore with old remnants of mining exploration.
Located southeast of Butte. East of Twin Bridges, west of Norris, north of Virginia City, and bounded on the north by the Jefferson River and I-90.
Getting There
Typical approach into the area is up Mill Creek Road out of Sheridan.
