Description Suggest change

Persepolis is a new crag in Muir Valley, that currently features only five routes, but offers amazing beauty and refreshing solitude. There is plenty of rock & shade in the north-facing cirque, and surely this combination will ensure many new lines in the future. Its likely that most of them will be hard, as the rock here tends to be rather slopey & less featured than nearby cliffs. Even if you aren't interested in trying any of these, anyone climbing at this end of the valley ought to atleast hike through this picturesque area to get a respit from the surrounding crowds.

Getting There Suggest change

Take the Muir Valley North Trail behind the barn in the main parking lot. When you reach the valley floor turn left and follow the gravel road, staying left at a fork in the road. Cross a bridge, then follow the road to a field with a sign for Animal Crackers Wall. Take the Animal Crackers trail, making a left at the top of the hill and passing the Animal Crackers slabs. Follow signs for Bibliotek, into & out of a large amphitheater and then continuing past Bibliotek. Cross a wooden bridge w/ safety cable, pass behind the waterfall, and follow stairs up to the big ledge, where the first routes are located. The first route encountered is "Zendebad".
