Description
There are 21 established kletterngebiete (crags) around the Kochelsee area. Most around the southwest end of the lake, near Altjoch.
Getting There
Unfortunately, from Garmisch, you have to go to Tutzing on the train first, making the trip to Kochel 1.5 hrs. but one could get off at Ohlstadt and hitchhike. You can drive there from Garmisch on the in half an hour, take A95 N toward Munich OR from Munich on the A95 toward Garmisch, and get off at Grossweil, and go through Schlehdorf to Kochel.
