Description
High quality climbing in a quiet, peaceful setting by a brook. The routes here are generally harder in rating(i.e. not too much below 5.8). There are a number of both sport and traditional climbing, as well as some good top rope sites (used by the boy scouts at one time).
Getting There
From Center Sandwich, take Sandwich Notch Rd. for a little over 3.5 miles (the road turns into a one lane dirt road). Although the climbs are located on a broken cliff band to the right, there are two main areas: Brilliant Corners Area & Highlander Wall.
One key to not driving past the area is to realize the climbs are a ways below the actual top-of-the-notch. The top-most area is Pulpit Rock, and this has parking for about 4-5 cars, one spot below (2-3 cars) and one spot above (1-2 cars) the bridge.
On hot days a visit to Beede Falls and its fine swimming at the base is recommended for all but the hardiest of climbers. (It's also a beautiful place, even if its too chilly to swim.) [Photos]
