Description
Balanced Rock, as the name implies, is the 60 ft. high bowling pin-like spire perched on the hillside above the western end of the cliff line of Echo Cliffs. The spire is clearly visible from the Mishe Mokwa Trail and is popular with hikers, but infrequently visited by climbers. Balanced Rock offers two routes, one on the north face, Heirloom (5.9) and the other on its east face, Get the Balance Right (5.11c). Both routes receive morning sun and afternoon shade. The 1st ascent of the spire was made in 1988 by Allan Gardner, et al.
