Description [Edit]

There are a few quality boulder problems scattered around the Ethan Allen Park in North Burlington. Some are right next to the foot path but a few gems hide off the trails, out of sight. Not climbed often, they get dirty. Decent rock quality, small and shaded.

Getting There [Edit]

Drive north out of burlington on North Ave a few miles and turn right on Ethan Allen Parkway at the Rite Aid on the corner and park in the lot provided. Walk north on the foot paths and explore!

I've been going here once in a while for a few years now and I'd love to see any beta about EAP. I can post some photos from this spot but I have no real info on routes. If anyone has any information on the spot that'd be great. I have thought about drawing a map of the park's boulders as there are a number of decent ones. Jan 3, 2011
Here's some random info from memory:

Walk in from the parking lot with the playground on your left. Soon there will be a boulder on the left that is short on the side facing the path but about 8 feet high on the right side. This has 1 or 2 0's going up the jugs on the tall side. It also has a 3 starting on the overhung corner and going big move (I think) out right. Then it also has 1 or 2 5+ climbs that start in this overhung part and go left. I think one goes left and straight up the arrete and the other traverses left onto the side facing the path. I think I may have cleaned another route that started on this path-side face and climbed right.

If you keep walking past this boulder there will be a section of boulders on your left. One is pretty tall about 10-12 feet. This has a 0 and 2 1's on it I believe. The 0 starts on a different boulder were it looks like a snake head then goes right into the tall boulder.

Past this also on the left is a tall face 10-12 feet with a left facing flake. This is a good climb but IIRC the top out is too dirty to top out and I had to do a sketchy drop. To the right of this boulder is a boulder with a nice horizontal arrete climb that I think goes at a 3. That's all I know for the area. Apr 15, 2015

I got bored and since I live 3 minutes from the park I took my dog for a walk and took a few pictures. I added what I saw and what I climbed a few years ago. The hillside boulders are much chossier than I remember and outside of First Boulder I'm not sure I'd put much confidence in any of the rock in the park.

Probably not worth much more than a lunch break curiosity trip. Feb 19, 2016
