Routes in West Black Jack - unsorted

Description

If you stay on the trail through the Black Jacks heading west toward the North West Territories crag, the boulder field extends further, past the more well know Zig-Zag, Moat and Ricochet boulders. This catch-all area is for posting isolated boulder problems west of Inverted Siberian Husky that don't yet have their own boulder listed. As boulder descriptions are made, they should be moved to their proper place. (leave comment or send a note to an admin)

Explore the slope uphill from the trail and you will find some hidden caves and other gems. Like the rest of the Black Jacks, some of the boulders will be surrounded by runoff after heavy rain or thaw and be buggy during black fly season.

Useful landmark named boulders in this zone already in the database are the Headstone Boulder and The Twin Boulders.

Getting There

Once in the Black Jack Boulders, continue west on the main trail by Black Jack Crack, the cluster around Zig-Zag Crack, the huge Moat Boulder, Ricochet and finally the Inverted Siberian Husky Boulders, like you were heading over to the North West Territories crag. These routes will be found along the trail and up the hillside once past the Husky. Some really good bouldering is hidden up hill, so go exploring. Look for more detailed directions in the individual route descriptions.

Be aware that once past the Moat Bldr. you are on private land, so be especially quite, particularly down slope and west of the trail, so you don't disturb the residence.
