Description

Smith Wall has south-facing and north-northeast-facing buttresses and encompasses the Jack's Fortress formation. The rock is a combination of metamorphics and granitic pegmatites. Typical of Unaweep the rock quality is hit and miss.

[Hide Comment] I spoke with the landowners today (very friendly older fellow and family), and climbing is prohibited on Smith Wall until further notice. Unfortunately there was an altercation between landowners and an "arrogant" climber. Whoever you are, I hope you're happy.

It saddens me that someone would disrespect this old man and his family, and I hope this trend does not continue. The last thing the climbing community here needs are more access issues in Unaweep. Apr 7, 2012
