This area is also known as the Gunga Din area. Noted for containing a large white marble historical marker or plague commemorating the 1939 movie Gunga Din starring Cary Grant, Joan Fontaine, and Douglas Fairbanks. In 1938 this site and Alabama Hills served as the Northern India stand-in set for the RKO adventure film.
