Description

Small Mountian range with lots of undevolped rock

Getting There

Drive East on skanee Rd out of L'anse MI, drive till you pass the big huron river(big erick's bridge campsite) then take the second left, drive down this road for about a mile past old two rut logging roads on the right till you come to one with two entrances this road cuts across the base of "ghost peak" which has good bouldering and a comprehensive view of the range

Another set of directions from user: fly'ndutchman

Directions: Big Eric's bridge to Little Huron river bridge. From Big Eric's head east, @ .5 mile turn LEFT onto the road to Little Huron river bridge. At 1.3 miles head to LEFT, note gate labeled "DAVIO" to right. Around 3.0 ml, Ghost peak is .25/.5 ml north of road. At 3.3 ml turn left. At 3.7 ml the road heads to left "north" and parallels the Little Huron. At 4.6 ml turn RIGHT and 4.7 ml is the Little Huron river and bridge. The Little Huron river road is a seasonal road, and can be rough. The roads and trails east of the river are NOTORIOUS for being blocked, mapped wrong and/or not represented at all, use caution.

The rock formations in this range are more tightly stacked, than probably on any other PUBLIC ACCESS area in Michigan. Yes there are a number of higher peaks in the state, but few if any have the cluster of exposed and bald formations that this range has. The sight lines between formations are unlike any I have seen in Michigan. Consider bringing binoculars or a spotting scope, for scouting routes or for the best upland wildlife viewing in the state.
