Description Suggest change

Marquette's bastard climbing area. The Pile (aka Glenda's Pile). Bugs, northern exposure, damp, and being somewhat green make it less popular. The routes tend to be a little ackward and slick, which doesn't help. But on a crisp fall day she ain't bad. Needs to be climbed to stay clean!  The crag consists of an Upper Pile (#1-3) and Lower Pile (#4-11). There is a long steep gully that seperate's the two.  Bastard or not, these climbs will make you a better climber.

Getting There Suggest change

Go to the intersection of McClellan(553) and Division(554). If you are on McClellan turn onto Division and drive for about a 1/4 mile and park on the right, just before Granite Point subdivision. Follow the mountain bike trails SE, up a fairly steep trail to the base of the rock.

Can be accessed from the top by driving up and over the top of Mount Marquette on the one way access road.  Park at the hair pin corner with the NTN mountain bike intersection.  Hike due north up a short steep hill, there's a switchback from left to right.  Then follow a faint trail northwest following faint red spray painted dots on trees.  These dot will lead you to a mountain bike trail that when taken left, takes you directly to the base of the Upper Pile.
