The sandbox is a great area to climb especially for beginners. There are seven routes in the Sandbox area, one 5.2, two 5.3's, a 5.4, two 5.6's and a 5.7. A nice little beach area with trees for the kids to sit and play while waiting (Potomac river can be dangerous). Easy access from the parking lot. Get there early and beware parking in the afternoon during the summer can be limited. Aug 29, 2012
